A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum is a classic, nine-time Tony Award winning farce that has been delighting audiences for nearly 60 years! The musical, set in Ancient Rome, follows the exploits of Pseudolus, a slave, who in exchange for his freedom, is trying to help his master, Hero, win the heart of Philia, the newest arrival at the local “house of ill-repute.” But of course, nothing goes according to plan; things quickly go awry; and hilarity ensues as various disguises are donned and identities are mistaken. With catchy, whimsical songs written by the incomparable Stephen Sondheim, this fast-paced script is overflowing with punny dialogue, over-the-top costumes, and vibrant, technicolor sets. Get the Led Out – A Celebration of the Mighty Zep

  • Address: 600 Auditorium Boulevard, Daytona Beach, FL 32118
  • Phone: (386) 671-3462
  • Presented By: Peabody Auditorium
  • Dates: March 14, 2024
  • Location: Peabody Auditorium
  • Time: 8:00 PM
  • Price: Prices are $51.75 and $45.75 plus applicable surcharges

From the bombastic and epic, to the folky and mystical, Get The Led Out (GTLO) has captured the essence of the recorded music of Led Zeppelin and brought it to the concert stage. The Philadelphia-based group consists of six veteran musicians’ intent on delivering Led Zeppelin live, like you’ve never heard before. Utilizing the multi-instrumentalists at their disposal, GTLO recreates the songs in all their depth and glory with the studio overdubs that Zeppelin themselves never performed. When you hear three guitars on the album…GTLO delivers three guitarists on stage. No wigs or fake English accents, GTLO brings what the audience wants…a high energy Zeppelin concert with an honest, heart-thumping intensity.

Dubbed by the media as “The American Led Zeppelin,” Get The Led Out offers a strong focus on the early years. They also touch on the deeper cuts that were seldom, if ever heard in concert. GTLO also includes a special “acoustic set” with Zep favorites including “Tangerine” and “Hey Hey What Can I Do.”

GTLO has amassed a strong national touring history, having performed at major club and PAC venues across the country. GTLO’s approach to their performance of this hallowed catalog is not unlike a classical performance. “Led Zeppelin are sort of the classical composers of the rock era,” says lead vocalist Paul Sinclair. “I believe 100 years from now they will be looked at as the Bach or Beethoven of our time. As cliché as it sounds, their music is timeless.”

A GTLO concert mimics the “light and shade” that are the embodiment of “The Mighty Zep.”  Whether it’s the passion and fury with which they deliver the blues-soaked, groove-driven rock anthems, it’s their attention to detail and nuance that makes a Get The Led Out performance a truly awe-inspiring event!

GTLO members are Paul Sinclair (lead vocals, harmonica), Paul Hammond (electric and acoustic guitars, mandolin, theremin), Jimmy Marchiano (electric and acoustic guitars, vocals), Andrew Lipke (keyboards, guitar, vocals, percussion), Adam Ferraioli (drums, percussion), Phil D’Agostino (bass) and Eddie Kurek (bass, vocals).

It’s Time To Go Green! The Downtown Daytona Beach Events is pleased to announce the St. Paddy’s Day Block Party will be held on  historical Beach Street from Orange Avenue to ISB in Downtown Daytona Beach.

This family-friendly event is free and open to the public. Everyone is invited to get their Irish on, wear lucky green, and join the block party as Riverfront Shops merchants rock the shamrocks celebrating St. Paddy’s Day. Daytona’s downtown Irish pub, McK’s Tavern, has celebrated St. Paddy’s Day with all the traditional Irish fare and comradery for 26 years. Expanding on its long-standing traditional Irish celebration, Beach Street will be closed to vehicle traffic between International Speedway Boulevard and Orange Avenue to accommodate the block party and food trucks.

Brimming with Irish cheer, the St. Paddy’s Block Party will have two stages of entertainment:

  • The Guinness Stage will be located at the corner of Beach Street and Magnolia Avenue. There will be music from 1-9 PM featuring traditional and rock Irish music by DJ Jukebox Bully throughout the event, Megean Academy of Irish Dance at 1:30 and 3:30, The Lighting Rods Band at 3:45, and Beauty And The Beats at 6.

  • The McK’s Stage will be located in front of McK’s Tavern on Beach Street. Performing will be  David Rowe playing Irish music starting at 5.

NEW this year is the St. Paddy’s Day Dog Parade & Costume Contest, which will be held at 3 PM on Beach Street from Orange Avenue to Magnolia Avenue. Proceeds benefit Sophie’s Circle Dog Rescue, dedicated to making the world a better place for animals and the humans who love them. The St. Paddy’s Day Dog Parade & Costume Contest hopes to raise awareness and funds for Sophie’s Circle while celebrating the creativity and companionship of our loveable canine friends. Registration for the Dog Parade and Costume Contest is required. Entrants should complete the registration form here or register in person on the day of the event.
