It’s officially winter time with some moments of spring still lingering. The weather hasn’t quite decided what it’s doing yet! One thing is for sure the bite is hotter than ever!
Holiday Fishing
The Holiday season is family time and that means fishing time as well! My brother Hopper is in town with his two kids and we have been having a blast taking our girls fishing and teaching them the ropes just like our dad did with us.

For the best live shrimp in town we like to go to 38 Live bait just behind the NSB bowling alley. I like to get the larger sized shrimp and hook them in the tail with smaller circle hooks.
Finding a shallow area that drops off to a deeper bank or hole has been our go to move and making for some great action. The girls have hooked into snooks, reds, mangrove snapper, sheepshead and trout. As for myself I’ve had some exceptional sight fishing days with many snook and redfish catches.

Winter Fishing Conditions
As the weather gets colder, the water will get clearer and the fish will start to school up. Look for weird water movements, bait and red tails!
