Editor’s Letter: Psychic Readings, Ghost Tours and Gift Ideas

We made it through the summer heat, and as the temperatures finally start to dip, the storms are rolling in to cool everything off. These next three months—October, November and December—are some of my absolute favorites. Fall brings so many fun events, inside and out, and you can feel the holiday spirit starting to sneak in. From corn mazes to holiday markets, it’s the season for getting out and enjoying all our area has to offer.

A DAY IN CASSADAGA

In this issue, my husband, Scotty, shares his adventure at the historic Hotel Cassadaga and Psychic Center. We had such a great time visiting this unique little area. Everyone we met—both the staff and the guests—was warm and welcoming, which made the experience even better. I got to watch Scotty have his very first psychic reading, and let me tell you, it was incredible to witness. I’m definitely open-minded about things like that, and the experience exceeded my expectations. I can’t wait to go back for my own reading, and I highly recommend taking a day to explore Cassadaga for yourself. The town is full of history, and the hotel has its own special energy—perfect for the Halloween season. Check out Scotty’s article on page 15 for all the details.

GHOSTLY ADVENTURES

Keeping with the spooky theme, Kelsey went on not one but two ghost tours in Cocoa Village and Titusville, and her column on page 21 will give you the chills in all the best ways.

As for Halloween night, once my kids have their fun, I’ll be heading to Beachside Tavern to catch my husband’s band, 5 Time Shag. I really enjoy dressing up and this year I am so excited to bust out my wizard costume! I’ll be in a full beard and totally in character. In fact, the only way you would know it was me, would be if you read this!

GIFTING LOCAL

We’re also gearing up for our annual Holiday Gift Guide, which runs in the November and December issues. At ECC, we love supporting locals, and there’s nothing better than giving a gift that comes from right here in our community. Whether it’s a locally made product, clothing from a boutique, or even the gift of an experience, shopping locally keeps our neighbourhoods thriving. Turn to page 34 to see how to be part of this affordable and fun way to share your business this season.

Have a fun and safe Halloween, and I’ll see you out there!
