In a world obsessed with finding love, perhaps the key is to first discover the love within ourselves. Contrary to common belief, happiness and contentment aren’t solely dependent on finding a partner; rather, they begin with self-fulfillment.
Our attractions are often drawn to those who share our interests. To cultivate love, cultivate hobbies. In my 35+ years at The Little Theatre of NSB, I’ve witnessed theater enthusiasts not only bonding over their love for the stage but also forming lasting romantic connections.

In a playful attempt at matchmaking, I invite you to the February show, February show, ‘9 to 5: The Musical’ (Feb 22 – Mar 10)(Feb 22 – Mar 10) at our beloved theatre. Consider gifting tickets to someone special, a friend seeking company, or gather a group for a shared experience. The choice is yours, and perhaps a special someone awaits in the audience.

Let me share a fascinating historical tidbit: the standing ovation’s origin dates back to 1743 during Messiaen’s London Stage. King George II’s response to Handel’s ‘Hallelujah Chorus’ set the precedent. A standing ovation today is a chance to reciprocate that historical appreciation with a gracious bow.
Surround yourself with inspiring individuals who encourage exploration. Whether it’s a shared love for fishing, reading, painting, or any other inspiring pursuit, having a supportive partner enhances the journey. As my grandpa wisely said, you’ll know when you’re in love – it’s a feeling that speaks for itself.

Reflecting on my own life, I find joy in my husband, who doubles as my favorite hobby. From horseback riding to roller-skating in our youth, to our shared love for acting and dancing, we’ve built a life of love and laughter, surrounded by our vibrant family.
Remember, lasting love begins with selflove. Embrace the journey of self-discovery, and watch as love naturally blooms within and spreads to those around you.
