2026 has really thrown us a loop. Thirty degrees in the morning and 70 in the afternoon? What in the world is going on? As we head into March, it’s finally starting to warm up a little — knock on wood. I don’t want to jinx us. Beach days, outdoor events and festival season are right within reach, and I am more than ready.

In fact, I’m currently working on The Event 2026 with the Table 2 Committee. It’s an all-ages field day competition that raises money for local youth sports programs. I’ve been working with the committee for a couple of years now, and it’s the main organization my husband, Scotty, and I give our time to each year. We help spread the word, we participate and yes — we get a little competitive… OK, very competitive.
But that’s part of what makes it so much fun. Not only are you battling it out against your friends and neighbors (bring it), you’re also helping raise money that goes right back into our community. I’d love to invite all of you to join us on Saturday, April 11, from 9 a.m. to noon.
Special Guests and What’s Included
And this year, we have some exciting additions. Tom the Mime — who you probably recognize from social media and his hilarious videos interacting with crowds at SeaWorld Orlando — will be joining us. He’ll be competing alongside participants and will also be available for meet-and-greet opportunities and photos, all included with your ticket.
We’re also excited to welcome Shark Coast FC, our local semipro soccer team, for a special appearance and meet and greet.
Adult tickets (ages 16 and up) are $30 and include entry into all games, an event T-shirt, a raffle ticket and eligibility for first- or second-place prizes. Children’s tickets (15 and under) are $10 and include a goodie bag, full access to the kids zone with free face painting and eligibility for children’s prizes.
Here’s how it works: When you arrive, you’ll check in, grab your scorecard and head out to the stations. It’s relaxed, easy and fun. You’ll compete in four sports — basketball, football, soccer and baseball. Each sport has two simple games, and for each game you get three chances to score a point.
When you’ve finished competing, turn in your scorecard and stick around to enjoy some free food. We’ll have hot dogs, chili dogs (and if you know, you know — that famous chili only makes its annual appearance at this event), plus pizza from Prima. Try your luck at the dunk tank while you’re there. And for the little ones, the kids zone will feature face painting and plenty of space to play.
After all the scorecards are tallied, winners will be announced at 1 p.m. at Lost Lagoon Bar and Grill in New Smyrna Beach. Prizes will be awarded for men’s first and second place, women’s first and second place, and children’s first and second place.
Table 2 Committee has donated more than $50,000 since 2018 to help kids across Volusia County — sponsoring players, purchasing uniforms, helping with travel expenses for out-of-town tournaments to name a few.
If you know a child who needs a sponsorship, if you’d like to donate, or if you want more information about the event including purchasing your ticket, you can visit table2events.com.
I’m looking forward to seeing a little more sunshine this month, and I hope to see all of you out there with us on April 11.
