If you haven’t gotten into the holiday spirit yet, this issue should do the trick. We’ve packed it with festive fun, including events all throughout November and even into early December — because planning ahead is key this time of year.
You’ll find a full list of December parades to help you get your calendar in order. If you’re looking to celebrate in West Volusia, don’t miss our feature dedicated to all the holiday happenings in that area. From lights and markets to music and community events, there’s plenty to get you in the spirit.
COOLER DAYS AND FRESH ADVENTURES
If you’re loving this cooler weather as much as I am, you’ll want to check out Kelsey’s story this month on The Rusty Spur. This local gem offers river and trail rides, paint-and-sip nights, and other fun outdoor experiences. The owner, who also graces our breathtaking cover this month, has created something truly special for locals to enjoy.
My family and I also made a trip up to Ponce Inlet this month for Scotty’s article on the Marine Science Center. We had a great time petting stingrays, observing sea turtles, and learning about the incredible work being done to protect local wildlife.
SHOP LOCAL, GIFT LOCAL
Our annual Holiday Gift Guide is back and better than ever! It’s a hyper-local feature highlighting small businesses right here in our community. If you’re interested in finding out more, email me directly at Tiffany@ecctoldme.com.
A PERSONAL NOTE
This November is a little different for me. It’s actually the first year I’ll be staying in town for Thanksgiving. My extended family and I usually rent an Airbnb in Georgia, but this year everyone’s plans are a bit different — and my two little ones will be spending the holiday with their dad.
Scotty will be serving at The Spott and I find myself with an open calendar and a chance to give back. I’d love to donate my time somewhere meaningful this Thanksgiving, so if you know of any volunteer opportunities, please reach out.
Here’s to cooler weather, cozy nights, and finding joy in new traditions.
XO,
