Q: What inspired you to open Cutting EDGE Oils in New Smyrna Beach?
A: Back in 2012, I was diagnosed with cervical cancer. I am happy to say that I’ve been cancer free for coming up on eight years now. After my cancer, I was put on so many different anxiety and sleeping medications and after years of being on them, I just started looking into more natural things, without all the side effects. This is how CBD came into my life and changed my life. CBD is more than just a job to me, it’s my life and my passion.
Q: When did you first open your doors?
A: Cutting EDGE Oils was opened on March 18, 2017.
Q: Although the popularity of CBD products has grown over the last couple a years, there are still a lot of people who don’t know exactly what it is. Give us your best breakdown of how you explain this to a new customer.
A: CBD is the abbreviation for cannabidiol, one of the many cannabinoids, or chemical compounds, found in marijuana and hemp. But unlike THC, CBD is not psychoactive. CBD can provide relief for chronic pain, anxiety, inflammation, depression and many other conditions.

Q: What sets you apart from other CBD retailers and products available on the market?
A: Well, I am proud to announce that I just recently won the News-Journal award for best CBD shop in Volusia and Flagler Counties. I think what really sets me apart is my customer service. Every customer has my personal cell phone number, so no matter what day or time of day, my customers know that they can get a hold of me. I am literally available for them anytime! Also, I carry my own personal line of CBD products that I have hand picked myself, fully involved down to the flavors and dosages. I also will custom order any product for any customer looking for hard-to-find items.
Q: How many custom products do you offer in your shop and what role do you play in the creation of them?
A: I offer 10 different custom products that are made specifically for my store. I have picked each flavor, the packaging, the milligrams they come in, and quantity of servings in each individual item.
How Can I Get Started using CBD to Benefit my Health?
Q: If a reader is interested in seeing how CBD can help them, what is the best way to get started?
A: The best way to start on CBD if you are new to it is to come in and allow me to go over all our different products, discuss what medical ailments you are having, and by showing you the products and giving you samples.
Q: What is the most common misconception about using CBD?
A: The most common misconception is that you will get “high” from using CBD and that all CBD is the same. There are a lot of really bad CBD products and companies out there.
Q: What is the most popular product you carry and why?
A: Our most popular product is our pain cream. Our pain cream is different from other CBD products because it starts working immediately once you apply it. The pain cream comes in regular strength and an extra strength formula as well. The pain cream is amazing for arthritis and neuropathy, along with muscle, joint and nerve pain.
Q: What is the difference between using a topical lotion versus something you ingest for pain management?
A: Depending on what your pain is stemming from and if your pain is isolated in one spot or all over your body, that will determine whether topical or oral CBD would be best.

Q: You recently added pet products to your shop. In what way can CBD help our furry friends?
A: CBD is wonderful for our pets when it comes to pain, stomach issues, anxiety, allergies and many other medical ailments.
Q: What is the difference between broad spectrum and full spectrum?
A: The main difference between full spectrum and broad spectrum is that full spectrum products contain trace amounts of THC (under 0.3 percent) while broad spectrum has no THC at all.
Q: What advice would you give to someone who is on the fence about treating themselves with CBD products?
A: I always tell my new customers that finding your right dosage is the main thing when getting great results from my products. Everyone is so different and your unique biology is what makes everyone have different results from CBD. A lot of people hear stories from people that CBD doesn’t work and it’s a scam, but generally the people saying this are people who tried cheap CBD filled with fillers. Remember, good CBD is not cheap and cheap CBD is not good.
Q: What is in the future for Cutting EDGE Oils?
A: In the near future I would like to see a couple more Cutting EDGE Oils stores open up. We have a satellite small store in Edgewater and are in a medical marijuana doctor’s office currently, and I hope to keep adding at least one new location each year.
