In my May conversation, I wrote about some of the cool places around Daytona Beach that my family has held our birthday parties. I have a new one that my girls and I visited for Mother’s Day and loved it so much that we booked the little girls’ party within a couple of weeks!
Family things to do at Brick Cre8
Brick Cre8 is a LEGO activity center in South Daytona, across from the Sunshine Mall plaza (2355 South Ridgewood Ave, Suite A). It is run by Mati Stack, a local educator that has auditioned for the reality show, “LEGO Masters.” She attends conventions around the country to bring back her STEM knowledge and creativity to kids and adults alike in our area! She even displays many of her LEGO creations in the studio for you to check out.

For Mother’s Day, my girls, mother-in-law, and I attended a workshop where Ms. Stack led us in creating LEGO flower sets: sunflowers, roses, and cherry blossoms. While my eldest can work fairly independently on LEGO sets, my younger two often need more guidance. I truly enjoyed the experience of building with my girls while Ms. Stack assisted us with sorting pieces, giving advice on placement, and even stepping in when I couldn’t figure out how to help! Her goal is to encourage kids and their grown-ups to play together.

Brick Cre8 will have a similar workshop for Father’s Day in June. This time, kids and their adults will build a LEGO car for the father figures in their life! The birthday party that we booked for my 8- and 6-year-olds includes 2 hours of building for 12 children, use of the kitchen space for food, and a LEGO gift for each guest. You can find more info on workshops, booking your own private event, or even special summer sessions by calling (386) 243-5223 or emailing info@BrickCre8.com.
I highly recommend Brick Cre8 for your family, school or team to participate in collaborative play! Ms. Stack has all of the expertise and LEGO sets you would need to build already at the studio and clean-up is quick and easy. You can check her out on Facebook and Instagram, too, by searching BrickCre8. Happy building!
