A Dino-Sized Celebration at T-Rex Cafe in Disney Springs

Similar to Rainforest Cafe, T-Rex Cafe immerses guests in the Ice Age, Jurassic, and Cretaceous periods with life-sized animatronic dinosaurs, rumbling meteor showers, and prehistoric sights.

When Avery told us she wanted to celebrate her 7th birthday at T-Rex Cafe in Lake Buena Vista, we knew it would be a roaring good time with our dino-loving girl. Located in the heart of Disney Springs, reservations are recommended, and while parking is free, plan ahead to find a spot in one of the garages and allow enough time to make your way through the bustling district to your prehistoric dining destination.

What’s inside T-Rex Cafe

Inside, the restaurant is divided into different prehistoric-themed areas, where enormous dinosaurs and prehistoric creatures move and roar while you dine. True to the times, meteor showers are unpredictable, and you never know when the next one will strike! Be ready, as the “sky” darkens and flaming meteors rumble overhead and send the creatures into a frenzy. Guests are encouraged to wander and explore, snapping photos with the towering T-Rex, woolly mammoths, and even a massive octopus at the impressive Underwater Bar, where tentacles sway overhead and jellyfish glow in the deep-sea atmosphere.

The menu features hearty, T-Rex-sized portions with a little something for everyone, with entrées ranging from $20 to $40. Our family opted for the Supersaurus Appetizer Sampler. We even added a rack of St. Louis-style pork spare ribs, making for the perfect shareable feast for lunch. Since Disney Springs is filled with incredible dessert options, we made sure to save room for some sweet treats later in the day.

Build-A-Dino Experience at T-Rex Cafe Gift Shop

To top off her prehistoric celebration, Avery visited the prehistoric-themed Build-A-Bear Workshop inside the T-Rex Cafe gift shop. For $55, she created her own custom Friend-a-saur bundle, choosing an axolotl complete with an outfit, shoes, a special scent, and a recorded sound button. She was thrilled to take home her own prehistoric pal as a memory of her big day.

T-Rex Cafe Activities

T-Rex Cafe is more than a restaurant—it’s a prehistoric adventure with an interactive Paleo Zone featuring educational kiosks, a fossil sandpit, and gem panning at Discovery Creek.

Whether celebrating or seeking a unique dining experience, T-Rex Cafe is unforgettable.
