As the year comes to a close, it’s hard to believe that 2024 is nearly behind us. Even more remarkable is the milestone on the horizon: East Coast Current’s 10-year anniversary in February 2025! For the past decade, we have worked tirelessly to deliver a local, community-focused publication that celebrates the people, businesses, and events that make Volusia County so special.

Since our first issue, we’ve maintained a steadfast commitment to showcasing the best our community has to offer. Month after month—minus a brief two-month pause during the Covid shutdown—we’ve published stories that inspire, encourage, and connect our readers. Whether you’ve been with us since the beginning or are just now joining the fun, we’re grateful for your support.

East Coast Current began as an opportunity for two working moms, Kelsey Walters and myself, to pursue our careers while staying home with our kids. It was the perfect balance of flexibility and passion, allowing us to connect locals and highlight the positivity and creativity within Volusia County. Over the years, the magazine has become a platform for uplifting voices, promoting small businesses, and fostering an appreciation for local art.

As we reflect on these incredible 10 years, we are also looking ahead. Growth is a cornerstone of any successful journey, and that’s why we’re thrilled to announce some exciting changes for 2025. Starting next year, East Coast Current will debut a fresh, new look.

We are saying good-bye to the newsprint pages and going all gloss, offering top-notch quality for our content and advertising. We are also updating the size. While we know the square layout has become a signature look, switching to a traditional magazine layout will allow us to explore more direct mailing options, making it easier than ever to get the ECC delivered straight to your mailbox. You can subscribe for a 12-month cycle and enjoy the convenience of having East Coast Current delivered straight to your door.
