New Children’s Book Brings the Wonders of Wildlife to Young Readers

“Pip’s Fishy Adventure, A True Story”

Celebrated local wildlife photographer, Shelley Lynch, is thrilled to announce the release of her enchanting new children’s book, “Pip’s Fishy Adventure.” Perfect for young readers in fourth grade and up (and adored by kids of all ages), this heartwarming tale combines Lynch’s passion for storytelling with her love for wildlife, offering a vibrant glimpse into the wonders of nature.

In “Pip’s Fishy Adventure,” readers follow the story of Pip, a curious pelican who finds himself in a tricky situation after attempting to eat a fileted sheepshead fish. This charming story is much more than just an adventure – it introduces readers to key themes of nature, community, resilience and kindness. Through Pip’s journey, Lynch imparts valuable lessons about perseverance and the importance of helping one another, all in a way that’s fun and engaging for young minds.

But what truly sets “Pip’s Fishy Adventure” apart is its stunning visual component. With 56 full-color photographs taken by Lynch herself, the book offers an immersive experience into the natural world, particularly highlighting the beauty of the Indian River Lagoon in New Smyrna Beach, Florida. Each image brings the story to life, showcasing the incredible wildlife Lynch has spent years documenting. Through these striking visuals, young readers are encouraged to explore the wonders of nature and develop a deeper appreciation for the environment around them.

Lynch understands the importance of creating content that is both educational and entertaining. “As a mother of two, I appreciate literature that not only engages children but also educates,” local mom, Amanda Sosa Stone says. She hopes “Pip’s Fishy Adventure” will resonate with families everywhere.

The book is available online at Shelley Lynch’s website, Amazon, and Barnes & Noble, and can also be purchased locally at the Marine Discovery Center, located at 520 Barracuda Boulevard in New Smyrna Beach. To celebrate its release, Lynch will be hosting a book signing at the Marine Discovery Center on October 24 from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., where readers can meet the author and get a signed copy of this delightful new release.
