DUTCH OVEN OPENS ITS DOORS IN DOWNTOWN NSB
Excitement is rising in downtown New Smyrna Beach as Dutch Oven Bread Co. puts the finishing touches on its highly anticipated Canal Street bakery. After months of behind-the-scenes work with plumbing, electrical, drywall, tile and more, the space is finally starting to feel like home for the beloved local sourdough brand.
Owners Fabio and Candice Uyttewaal, along with their dedicated team, have spent years cultivating a following from their home in Edgewater and production site in the industrial center off Park Ave. Now, with the expansion into Canal Street, they’re ready to share their craft with even more of the community.
WHAT TO EXPECT ON OPENING DAY
Guests can look forward to the bakery’s signature sourdough breads, a wide selection of sweet and savory pastries, freshly brewed coffee & espresso drinks. In the months ahead, the menu will expand even further to include pressed sandwiches, making Dutch Oven Bread Co. the perfect stop for both breakfast and lunch.
For the Uyttewaals, this project is about more than baking. “Every day we’re making decisions that will shape how our guests experience this space,” Candice shared. “It’s equal parts exciting, overwhelming, and surreal, but we wouldn’t be here without the support of this community.”
From a small start in Edgewater to a thriving downtown destination, Dutch Oven Bread Co. is proof that hard work, good bread, and strong community roots can build something lasting. And with opening day on the horizon, the smell of fresh sourdough will soon fill downtown NSB.
