Washington Street plays an important role in New Smyrna Beach as the most direct connection between U.S. 1 and North Causeway.

All are invited to learn about and weigh in on a proposed streetscape project that includes undergrounding power lines, removing unsightly poles and other utility components, beautifying street lights and landscaping, enhancing sidewalks and crosswalks, and upgrading water main and stormwater infrastructure when city engineers host a public forum at 6 p.m. Monday, Nov. 20 in the James W. Hathaway Commission Chambers at 214 Sams Ave.

Public input received during the forum will be incorporated into a request for contractor bids that will ultimately be considered for approval or denial by the City Commission during a future meeting.
