There will be a band, food and general vendors, a kids’ zone, and, of course, the best fireworks show in town! There is free admission and parking at this event. The fireworks show begins at 9:15 pm.

The celebration begins at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, July 4, 2023 at both the City Hall complex (104 North Riverside Drive) and Menard May Park (413 South Riverside Drive). If you are wondering which location would be best for you, check out these tips:

On Tuesday, July 4th, Friends of the Bandshell will celebrate Independence Day with a show featuring Alter Eagles, an Eagles Tribute Band along with a special extended “Bud Light-Lights Up Daytona Fireworks Display” paired with patriotic music provided by 95.7 The Hog radio show. NSB BBQ Challenge 2023

Celebrate BBQ Fest with all styles of Bbq at the New Smyrna Beach Bbq Challenge on Saturday, July 1st from 1PM-5PM, along Flagler Avenue, in New Smyrna Beach!
Like other food challenges on Flagler Avenue in New Smyrna Beach, the NSB Bbq Challenge guests will use their tasting passports to visit the host sites and taste sample sized bbq portions prepared in multiple different ways like chicken, beef, pork, seafood.
Tasting passports and maps picked up at the Welcome corner of S. Cooper Street and Flagler Avenue on the day of the event. Passports will be for sale on the day of the event starting at 1230 pm however, we strongly suggest pre-ordering your passport on Eventbrite as WE WILL SELL OUT!

Race Timing/ Scoring:
The race will be professionally timed and scored. Disposable, electronic chips will be attached to the bib number. In order to get the best read possible, you need to wear your bib number unaltered on the front of your shirt pinned at all four corners. Do not have any clothing covering your bib number.
Results will be posted onsite of the race and also online concluding the event.

Where does the race take place?
This is a Beach Run/Walk in the sand. The race course begins on the beach near the boardwalk at the Flagler Avenue Beach Approach in New Smyrna Beach. Registration opens at 7am. Race start time is promptly 8am.
When is Packet Pickup?
All packets (race bib number & event shirt) can be picked up near the start line before the race. The Day of Registration and Packet Pickup tent will be clearly marked on the Flagler Ave Boardwalk and opens at 7am. Please have your registration number (email confirmation) with you for easy pickup.
Will there be results posted at the race?
Yes. Official results are posted near the finish line for all finishers in every age group. On-site times are refreshed and reposted throughout the event. Results will also be printed for any questions at the post-race awards celebration. Following the event, results will be posted on this site on the RESULTS tab.
Will there be a Finisher Medal?
Yes. Registration also includes an event shirt, chip-timed bib, awards, free professional photographs, and a beautiful route along the beach.
Who gets the event T-shirt?
Only pre-registered runners that successfully complete the online registration and payment processes seven weekdays before the race are guaranteed a free race t-shirt. Pre-registered runners in the seven days leading to the race are first to receive their shirt and preferred size. The remaining shirts for walk-up registrations are available until they run out. Quantities and sizes are not guaranteed for day-of registrations.
Are dogs/animals allowed to participate in this event?
No. As much as we love our pets too, the safety of participants is our main concern. Pets are not allowed on this beach run/walk.
Should I bring my own water?
Water is provided at a few “Water Refill Stations” near the start/finish area, as well on the 5K route (2 times). These stations have water jugs and small paper cups for use. If you feel you need more water or would like to carry a water bottle while you run, please bring your own. While on the beach, we try to limit our waste and pollution that may blow into the ocean. We encourage renewable and sustainable methods of water distribution at events to reduce our litter impact.
How much does it cost?
Early registration is $25 per person. There is an online processing fee of $2.75.
In person registration on Race Day is $30.
Registration fees are non-refundable. We have a strict No Transfer policy.
Will the race be held if it’s raining?
The race is a “rain or shine” event. All participants are encouraged to dress appropriately for the weather.
Will there be an awards ceremony?
An awards ceremony will take place after the race at Flagler Tavern. Estimated 9:15am start.
Where is parking?
There is free parking along Flagler Ave. The boardwalk parking at Flagler Ave Boardwalk has times and fees posted. Obey all parking signs for locations for free and day-fee parking.

3rd Annual Veterans & First Responders July 4th Honor Ceremony

3rd Annual July 4th Veterans & 1st Responders Ceremony, beginning at 9 a.m. Tuesday, July 4, on the Boardwalk at the Clock Tower in front of the Hilton in Daytona Beach.
This year’s Ceremony will Honor local deceased Veteran and 1st Responder, Lieutenant Laurence “Larry” Buck, Daytona Beach Police Department, Retired and United States Marine Corps veteran of the Vietnam War.
Lt. Buck devoted 31 years to Daytona Beach law enforcement and was involved in various veterans’ groups. Laurence W. Buck reported for his final duty station on March 10, 2022, at 72 years old.
Larry was a loyal, honest, and courageous man who always stood by his comrades and his principles. We honor his legacy and his service.
Immediately following the Ceremony, the Annual July 4th Veterans & 1st Responders Parade will pay tribute to all Veterans and 1st responders.
The parade’s lineup will feature 30+ local Veteran & 1st Responder organizations, as well as combat veterans, and the city’s police and fire departments.
The parade will begin on Main Street at Atlantic Avenue and travel west on Main Street to the base of the Main Street Bridge. The public can view the parade from the sidewalks along Main Street.

Enjoy the third annual Fourth of July Veterans Parade, beginning at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 4, on Main Street in Daytona Beach. The parade’s lineup will feature local military organizations, as well as combat veterans, and the city’s police and fire departments.
