How to Register Your Child for a Fun and Engaging Summer Camp in Volusia County Today

Here are some of the best summer camps available in Volusia County, along with registration information:

Volusia County Parks and Recreation:

With locations throughout the county, this summer camp offers a wide range of activities, including sports, arts and crafts, and outdoor adventures. Registration is open now, and the cost varies depending on the location.

Volusia County Parks, Recreation and Culture has scheduled supervised play, games and trips daily from
7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday from June 12 through July 28 for children ages 5 to 12.
Five-year-olds must have completed kindergarten. Programs close promptly at 5:30 p.m. Children picked up late will be assessed a $10 late fee per 15 minutes, starting at 5:31 p.m.

The $80 weekly fee includes all field trip entrance fees. Regardless of your child’s attendance, there will be no reduction in weekly feesThere is a one-time $20 non-refundable registration fee per child to participate in the Summer Recreation Program. T-shirts are included in the fee and must be worn on all field trip days.

All fees must be paid by check or money order on Mondays only. CASH WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. Checks should be made payable to the County of Volusia, and a driver’s license number must be on all checks.

Scholarship information:

Volusia County Government’s Community Assistance Division will start accepting 2023 summer camp scholarship applications at 7:30 a.m. Monday, April 10. 

Scholarships are awarded to income-eligible households for children between the ages of five and 14. For a child to receive a scholarship, they must have completed kindergarten by the conclusion of the 2022 – 2023 school year. Additionally, children up to the age of 17 planning to attend an approved special needs camp are also eligible to apply for a scholarship.

It is preferred for applicants to upload their completed application and supporting documentation through the secure portal at volusia.org/community_assistance/applications. The portal to upload applications will be available at 7:30 a.m. Monday, April 10. Applications may also be mailed or provided in person to the Community Assistance Division, 121 W. Rich Ave., DeLand, FL 32720. Faxed or incomplete applications will not be accepted.

YMCA Summer Camps:

The YMCA offers several summer camps throughout Volusia County, including day camps and specialty camps. Activities include swimming, sports, and arts and crafts. Registration is open now, and financial assistance is available.

The YMCA Summer Day Camp is a place where children can develop their skills, confidence and blossom new friendships. Each day your child will have tons of fun as they explore new adventures and experience different themes each week.

Summer Day Camp for ages 5-14 yrs offered at 3 locations, Port Orange Y, Ormond Beach Y and Southeast Volusia Y.

DeLand Y offers camp for ages 6-14 years old and  Kinder Camp (Ages 4-5) is full of the same fun activities and trips (with some age-specific modifications) as Day Camp. * Only offered at the DeLand Y location.*

Camp runs from June 5th – August 11th , Monday – Friday  7am -6pm.

Rates: Member: $95 Weekly| Community Participants: $115 Weekly
Registration Fee: $50 per participant

Museum of Arts and Sciences Summer Camps:

This camp focuses on science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) education, as well as art and history. Kids can participate in hands-on activities and experiments, as well as field trips. Registration is open now, and the cost varies depending on the program.

The annual Summer Learning Institute focuses on art, science, and history, with many integrated learning experiences for our students. All classes are taught by education professionals with many years of teaching experience. The Museum of Arts & Sciences and our Charles and Linda Williams Children’s Museum provide interactive and engaging experiences for each of our Summer Learning Institute students.

City of Daytona Beach Summer Camps:

This camp offers a variety of activities, including sports, arts and crafts, and field trips. Kids can also participate in swim lessons and other aquatic activities. Registration is opening soon, and the cost varies depending on the program.

The city’s popular summer camp program begins June 5 and runs through Aug. 4. This 9-week program is for youth ages 5 to 16 and will be from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. The summer camps will be at these locations:

  • Sunnyland Recreation Center

Registration opens Monday, May 1, at the Parks & Recreation Department at City Hall (301. S. Ridgewood Ave.) The camp fee is $270 per youth. A payment plan of $30 per week is available. Get ready for a summer of hands on, feet wet adventures! Campers will participate in scientific activities, hike through nature, explore our waters, investigate new creatures, and more while fostering life long friendships and appreciation for the world around them. This camp focuses on marine science and conservation, with activities such as kayaking, snorkeling, and beach exploration. Are you between the ages of 12-15 and looking for some summer fun? Then sign up for our upcoming Teen Time! Summer Field Trips at the Babe James Community Center. We’re kicking off the summer season on May 12th with a trip to Ormond Lanes. There is no cost to register but participants need to bring their own spending money. Space is limited, so register early!

Florida Tennis Center Summer Camp

Get into the swing of things this summer at the 2023 Summer Tennis Camp at the Florida Tennis Center. Located at 1 Duce Court, this camp is offered for youth 4 to 16 and will include tennis fundamentals, drills and match play from 9 a.m. to noon every Monday through Thursday beginning June 5.
