Per the City of New Smyrna Beach: At 6:32 AM, New Smyrna Beach Fire Department and Volusia County Fire Services responded to 521 Flagler Avenue for a reported structure fire. Engine 52 arrived on scene at 6:38 AM and found heavy fire showing from the upstairs restaurant.

Due to the heavy fire conditions, a second alarm was called at 6:40 AM. The New Smyrna Beach Fire Department was then assisted by Edgewater Fire Rescue, Port Orange Fire Rescue, and Volusia County EMS. Units on scene had fire under control at 7:20 AM.

Florida State Fire Marshall responded for an investigation. City of New Smyrna Beach Fire Bureau will be assisting with the cause determination. They remain on scene.

No civilian or firefighter injuries. Restaurant appears to be a total loss.
