Volusia County Restaurants Open on Thanksgiving – 2022

Christmas Spectacular at Stetson Mansion

Christmas Spectacular tours dates are Nov. 1, 2022 through Jan. 21, 2023. The best Christmas decorations in Florida according to USA Today. Ten themed rooms of elaborate designer decorations geared to adults. Decorations change each year.

Self-guided tours will be offered Nov. 1-15 and Jan. 9-21 (No Sundays these dates) 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 a.m. and Nov. 16-Jan. 7 (10:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 1:30 p.m., 2:30 p.m., 4 p.m., 5:30 p.m. (Except Sunday mornings)

Group bookings of 16 or more people get one free ticket for every 15 paid.

Reservations required. Free parking. Tickets go on sale Sept. 20.

Gingerbread Fantasy Holiday Light Display

This holiday season, Rose Villa Southern Table and Bar will transform into a Gingerbread Fantasy decorative light display that evokes classic storybook memories in exquisite style. From November 18, 2022, through January 5, 2023, visitors can stop to take a family photo or a fun selfie outside of in this historic setting in downtown Ormond Beach.

During Gingerbread Fantasy, the restaurant will be decorated with larger-than-life Gingerbread men, towering lollipops, unique topiary snowmen, the “dogs of Rose Villa,” stain glass windows reflecting gingerbread men, gold bells, candy canes and candied fruit, and of course hundreds of colorful lights reaching from the ground to the top of the two and a half story rooftop.

For an extra special holiday activity, Rose Villa will offer a hands-on experience building your own gingerbread house. This confection-based activity is offered daily from 10 a.m. – noon. Cost starts at $99 and reservations are required.

While everyone is encouraged to enjoy Gingerbread Fantasy for an outdoor photo opportunity, entry inside the restaurant is for diners only with reservations.

Magic of Lights

Magic of Lights, the popular drive-through, family-friendly holiday twinkling lights extravaganza, returns to Daytona International Speedway. Back for its sixth year at the “World Center of Racing”, Magic of Lights will continue to bring a dazzling display of more than one million sparkling lights and magical scenes. New this year will feature the premiere of the Barbie TM holiday light display as well as Big Foot Monster Trucks and Prehistoric Christmas.

Magic of Lights includes familiar favorite holiday scenes and characters that warm the heart and create special family memories across the generations. Some of those favorite, festive traditional scenes returning include the Illuminating Mega Tree, which is 40 feet tall with dancing lights synchronized to your favorite holiday tunes, plus, a Tropical Christmas, Fairytale Scenes, Reindeer Crossing, 12 Days of Christmas and the notorious Enchanting Tunnel of Lights.

Each frame of each scene is designed using the Latest CAD Technology and hand built in-house from the Magic of Lights warehouse located in Medina, Ohio. The Magic of Lightsshow holds more than 10 miles of LED lighting installed inside the displays, in tress and on buildings throughout its course. There are 10 different colors of LED bulbs used.

Scenes are as high as 32 feet tall and as long as several hundred feet. The steel displays are designed, bent, cut and welded into about 800 frames that are combined in different configurations to create each show’s giant winter holiday scenes. Each Magic of Lightsshow used about 10 miles of steel to build the displays.

The 49th Daytona Turkey Run, the largest combined classic car show and swap meet in the United States, will be in the infield at Daytona International Speedway! Four days of family fun kicks off on Thanksgiving Day and runs through Sunday, November 27!

The annual Daytona Turkey Run is a car enthusiasts dream held each Thanksgiving weekend in the infield of the World Center of Racing. 64th Annual Birthplace of Speed Antique Car Show and Gaslight Parade

The Gaslight Parade will take place on Friday, Nov. 25 beginning at 7 p.m. The parade, which features 1997 & older street legal vehicles, will begin at The Casements and run East on East Granada Blvd, then South on South Atlantic Ave. to Harvard Drive.

 The Antique Car Show is set for Saturday, Nov. 26 from 8 a.m. – 3 p.m. at Fortunato Park, Northeast corner of the Granada Bridge.

Canal St. Historic District 3rd Annual Holiday Window Decorating Contest

We are excited to announce the return of the Holiday Window Decorating Contest to the Canal Street Historic District. Voting begins on November 25th and will run until the 28th. We will have a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winner along with a People’s Choice Award. Winners will be announced live on Facebook on November 30th. You will be able to vote via QR code located on your favorite window.

Gobble Wobble Turkey Trot 5K

Gobble gobble! What better way to enjoy your Turkey Day than by burning those calories before the big meal?! Bring the whole family down on Thursday, Nov. 24th, to the Flagler Avenue Boardwalk for Turkey Day Beach 5k!!  During this chip-timed race you can run, walk, or jog along the beautiful hard-packed beaches of New Smyrna Beach! Join us for our annual Thanksgiving Gifts Day!

The National Historic Landmark Ponce Inlet Lighthouse and Museum welcomes all to enjoy a more relaxed alternative to Black Friday madness on the day after Thanksgiving, Friday, November 25.

Admission to the special programs will be included in the regular Ponce Inlet Lighthouse fees. The special programs are on tap from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

The lighthouse staff and its docents will offer workshops, programs and visiting kids will be able to hand make a special children’s take-home ornament, crafted just like the children of the lighthouse keepers did 100 years ago. Keeper-docents in United States Lighthouse Service uniforms will answer questions and conduct orientation tours at the lighthouse station during the day, while other costumed docent re-enactors will bring to life historic figures from the lighthouse past. Climbing Florida’s tallest lighthouse tower with its spectacular view from the gallery is always a special treat. In addition, the station’s many historic buildings, now museums, are devoted to the chronicle of the American lighthouse service and the Ponce Inlet Lighthouse story.  Each building houses interesting exhibits and artifacts, and a nationally acclaimed highlight is the Ponce Inlet Lens Museum’s collection of restored Fresnel Lenses, the first modern optic.

Flagler Avenue Wine Walk – November 2022

The Wine Walk is a monthly Progressive Wine Tasting event that takes place on Flagler Avenue, Saturday, November 26th, from 1pm -7 pm in New Smyrna Beach. Wine Walk tasting passports are $30 and include 20 tasting tickets along with a keepsake wine glass, map, and listing of each host locations wines for the month. During the event, locations offer both one and multi-ticket wines to sample of the 100 featured wines for the month. Those who want to share their 20 tasting tickets with a friend may purchase an additional wine glass for $5 CASH. Flagler Avenue will NOT be closed for this event which takes place inside host locations all along Flagler Avenue.

HOW TO PURCHASE TICKETS:

We offer two ways for you to purchase tickets to the monthly Flagler Avenue Wine Walk. You can purchase in advance on Eventbrite or the day of event for CASH ONLY starting at NOON. We have a limited number of on-line tickets for sale, but we have plenty of tickets, wine, and glasses,  for sale the day of. Tickets sales end at 5:30pm day of the event, to give you plenty of time to enjoy the full experience of Flagler Avenue Wine Walk Event.

Martina McBride: Joy to Christmas Tour

Martina McBride will be bringing her “Joy of Christmas” tour to Peabody Auditorium. Multiple Grammy nominee McBride has sold more than 20 million albums to date, which includes 20 Top 10 singles and six number one hits.

McBride has earned more than 15 major music awards, including four wins for Female Vocalist of the Year from the Country Music Association and three Academy of Country Music for Top Female Vocalist. Martina has been awarded 14 Gold Records, nine Platinum honors, three Double Platinum Records and two Triple Platinum Awards. McBride was awarded the Covenant House Beacon of Hope Award and Music Business Association’s prestigious 2015 Harry Chapin Memorial Humanitarian Award for her philanthropic efforts on behalf of domestic violence. Martina has released two cookbooks – “Around the Table,” a full-color illustrated collection of her favorite recipes, hosting tips, practical menu planning advice and themed décor inspiration. She released her second book, “Martina’s Kitchen Mix: My Recipe Playlist for Real Life,” in October 2018. Most recently, McBride was honored with the Cliffie Stone Icon Award at the ACM Honors event for her impactful contributions to country music.

When McBride isn’t in the studio, she focuses her time on charitable causes dear to her heart. Through her Team Music Is Love charity initiative, McBride partners with non-profit causes to help many of the towns she’s performing in. McBride also invites fans to join her team in making the world a better place through the power of music. Since 2011, Team Music Is Love has been responsible for many successful fundraising and volunteer projects helping causes such as hunger relief, cancer research, combating domestic violence and helping children in need.
