Great Flagler Avenue Pumpkin Hunt

October 15 @ 8:00 am – October 29 @ 5:00 pm along Flagler Avenue, NSB

It’s time for the Great Flagler Avenue Pumpkin Hunt! Beginning October 15th – 29th, you’ll be able to download your free pumpkin map and start your search for nine hidden pumpkins along Flagler Avenue! Once you find a pumpkin visit the host business and get your hunt stamp.  When you have collected all nine stamps, drop your map off at the Seahorse Inn located at 431 Flagler Avenue. One correct entry will win a free weekend stay!

Humana Pictona Open

Pictona at Holly Hill, one of the premier Pickleball destinations in the country, will host the Humana Pictona Open.

The Humana Pictona Open expects 1,000 or more players to come from all parts of Florida and the Southeast to compete across 8 divisions in men’s and women’s singles, doubles and mixed, based on age, gender and skill level. The tournament will be the Grand Opening of Pictona’s expansion project, 
a 49 court, state-of-the-art facility.

Tournament fee is $60, plus $15 per event entered.

Aero Showcase

October 21 – October 22 @ DeLand Municipal Airport, 1777 Langley Drive, DeLand

Aero Showcase at DeLand, FL 2022 will be provided by Aero Affinity Holding. This event is a traditional annual exhibition, focused on Sport Aviation. The Showcase is held at the DeLand Municipal Airport (KDED) in the city of DeLand. Multiple credible exhibitors will be featuring all kinds of sport aircraft, ultralights, trikes, rotorcraft, powered parachutes and paragliders, engines, avionics, pilot gear, and flight schools. Enjoy demo flights, interactive workshops, educational forums, keynote speakers, Showcase Flights, demonstrations, food concessions, music, pre-owned aircraft sales, and more! Creepy candlelight tours

Candlelight will lead the way while guests listen to scary tales from the past on a spooky tour designed to startle and activate the imagination. Guests can expect mild frights as they are escorted to the DeBary mansion and enter the narrow hallways and darkened rooms once occupied by 19th century wine merchant Frederick deBary and his family. Reservations are required, and space is limited per tour; call 386-668-3840 to make a reservation. Admission is $10 per person. Children under 12 will not be admitted.

Little Literacy Heroes 3K Fun Run/Walk

This family-friendly event is the perfect opportunity to stay active and engaged while supporting early literacy in Volusia County! Walk or run to support the need for increased early literacy rates and access to books in your community.

Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library of Volusia is a free book-gifting program available to children birth to five years old in Volusia County at no cost to their family. Each month, the program mails one high quality, age-appropriate book to the child. It is fully funded by donations from generous community members. For families in our community who cannot afford books or have lost access to literacy due to unfortunate circumstances (unemployment, low-income, domestic abuse, etc.), this is an invaluable program. 

All proceeds from this event will benefit the more than 3,600 local Volusia County children this program serves.

2022 is an untimed Fun Run or Walk on the Riverfront Esplanade jogging trail. 3K Start time is 10 a.m. and includes a finisher item, TBA. Kids Fun Run Start time is 10:30 a.m. and includes a Hero Cape for decorating. Distances vary based on age: Toddler Mini-Dash up to a 100-meter Dash.

Family Party from 10 .am.- 1 p.m. is free and open to the community. Party will have a DJ, Lawn Games, Giveaways and more! Food and Beverage available for purchase to benefit the cause.

Oktoberfest

Celebrate Oktoberfest along Beach Street in Downtown Daytona Beach with German music, beer and food.

Schedule to perform is Alpenrose, one of the area’s top German bands, and The Love Band, a crowd-pleasing group that plays rock, pop and R& B. 

In addition, enjoy Dachshund & Small Breed Races and a costume contest.

ONE DAYTONA Art Festival, in partnership with Gallery500, is an award winning annual fine art festival featuring juried fine artists and non-juried fine craft artisans at ONE DAYTONA. The art festival is held at ONE DAYTONA (a shopping and entertainment destination in Daytona Beach) and offers an opportunity for local and visiting collectors to experience culture and refinement over the course of two days with high-end and craft fine art, jazz music on the stage in Victory Circle, live art at Gallery500, and cash awards to attract the best fine artists. This year’s festival will also include a Wine Walk. Proceeds are donated to Volusia County Schools’ Visual Arts Program.

DeLand 0.5K Micro-Marathon Pub Crawl

Saturday from 2 – 6 PM @ downtown DeLand

The “run” for the rest of us!

Join us for the 2nd annual 0.5k Micro-Marathon Pub Crawl on Saturday, October 22 in historic Downtown DeLand. 

Not a runner? No worries! The race route will be filled with several hydration stations to help you make it to the finish line.

Tickets are $40 and include beer, wine, food and tons of race day swag!

Flagler Avenue Wine Walk – October 2022

October 22 @ 1:00 pm – 7:00 pm along Flagler Avenue, NSB

The Wine Walk is a monthly Progressive Wine Tasting event that takes place on Flagler Avenue, Saturday, October 22nd, from 1pm -7 pm in New Smyrna Beach. Wine Walk tasting passports are $30 and include 20 tasting tickets along with a keepsake wine glass, map, and listing of each host locations wines for the month. During the event, locations offer both one and multi-ticket wines to sample of the 100 featured wines for the month. Those who want to share their 20 tasting tickets with a friend may purchase an additional wine glass for $5 CASH. Flagler Avenue will NOT be closed for this event which takes place inside host locations all along Flagler Avenue.

HOW TO PURCHASE TICKETS:

We offer two ways for you to purchase tickets to the monthly Flagler Avenue Wine Walk. You can purchase in advance on Eventbrite or the day of event for CASH ONLY starting at NOON. We have a limited number of on-line tickets for sale, but we have plenty of tickets, wine, and glasses,  for sale the day of. Tickets sales end at 5:30pm day of the event, to give you plenty of time to enjoy the full experience of Flagler Avenue Wine Walk Event.

Cooper Street, starting at Noon. All pre-sold tickets must be picked up 5:15pm the day of the event and can ONLY BE PICKED UP at Welcome Tent located at 401 Flagler Avenue.
