5th Annual Trikefest

The Daytona Boat Show

he Marine Industry Association of Central Florida (MIACF) presents the Daytona Boat Show at the Ocean Center. The highly anticipated show features 15 of Central Florida’s top boat dealers representing more than 80 manufacturers with approximately 250 boats on display.

The Daytona Boat Show features a wide variety of boats including bowriders, center consoles, deck boats, flats boats, fresh water fishing boats, jet boats, pontoon boats and surf boats to fit any lifestyle and occasion.

Extra incentives are available only during the show from dealers and manufacturers such as extended warranties, service packages, waived dockage, enhanced electronics and accessory packages.

Guests can enjoy vendor booths with boating gear and a variety of products, marine electronics, accessories and much more. Children have the opportunity to catch live trout. This catch and release activity is safe and fun to create lasting memories.

THE WHOLIGANS – The Who Tribute

The Sounds of Summer Concert Series is an annual live summer concert series that takes place on Friday nights at the historic oceanfront Bandshell located on the North end of the Daytona Beach Boardwalk. Known for bringing the best Tribute Bands to the beach, the 2022 Concert Series returns with its Friday night concerts starting Friday, May 27, and continuing through Friday, September 23 (including special holiday weekend performances). The concerts are free to the public with the option to purchase VIP seats for $10 plus applicable surcharges. Guests are welcome to bring their own chairs to the concerts or purchase VIP tickets, which include a seat. VIP tickets will be available for purchase beginning at 10 a.m. Friday, March 18. Tickets can be purchased through Ticketmaster or from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday at the Peabody Box Office at 600 Auditorium Boulevard in Daytona Beach. 

Special holiday performances on Sunday, May 29, Sunday, July 3, and Sunday, September 4, 2022.

Attendees can park in the nearby Ocean Center parking garage and surface lots. Attendees using the garage have easy access to the Bandshell and Boardwalk area via the pedestrian overpass.

Midtown Music Concert Series: Franchise Players

The City of Daytona Beach is hosting the Midtown Music Concert Series beginning Saturday, April 9, at Cypress Park at 981 George W. Engram Blvd. in Daytona Beach. The free concert series will showcase the best local bands from 7:30 to 9 p.m. on select Saturday nights through September. Food and drink vendors will be onsite during the concerts. 

Saturday, Sept. 17: Franchise Players

Franchise Players featuring Andrew Luv will be performing a blend of soul, pop, smooth jazz, hip hop and more at this performance.

Attendees can bring their own lawn chairs. No coolers are allowed.

This year’s sponsors of the Midtown Music Concert Series includes VyStar Credit Union and U-Store, Daytona Beach. 

Star-Spangled Summer Concert Series: Elton John Tribute

The Star-Spangled Summer Concert Series is an annual live summer concert series that takes place on Saturday nights at the historic oceanfront Bandshell located on the North end of the Daytona Beach Boardwalk. Known for bringing the best Tribute Bands to the beach, the 2022 Concert Series continue every Saturday night, May 28 through September 24, plus July 4th. A free fireworks display follows every Saturday night concert. Tickets can be purchased starting March 18th through Ticketmaster. Tickets for each show can be purchased online until 2:00 p.m. on the Friday before the show, and then on the day of the show, VIP tickets will be sold at the Bandshell at 5:00 p.m. for that day’s show.

Bring your own chairs or rent them at the concert for 2 for $5

Smithsonian Museum Day

Enjoy free Museum admission to MOAS and the Cici and Hyatt Brown Museum of Art when you present a Museum Day ticket.

International Coastal Cleanup

Saturday from 8 – 11 AM – countywide

Join Volusia County’s Environmental Management Division for the International Coastal Cleanup at your choice of over 20 sites along the beach, Halifax River and Indian River from 8 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 17. Last year, 1,330 Volusia County volunteers collected 4,822 pounds of trash during the cleanup.

Register online at www.volusia.org/cleanups from Aug. 1 to Sept. 3. Bring garden gloves, drinking water in refillable bottles, and buckets for collecting trash. Wear a hat, sunscreen, comfortable clothing and outdoor footwear. Preregistered participants will receive a T-shirt after the event, as supplies last.

Most river locations have boat launches where participants are encouraged to bring their kayaks, paddleboards, canoes or motorboats (where appropriate) to access hard-to-reach coastlines.

In addition to taking part in the annual cleanup, residents can help decrease marine debris simply by reducing the amount of waste and single use products they generate on a daily basis. Remember the motto, “Reduce and reuse, then recycle.”  

EDGEfest River Rescue Regatta

Saturday from 10 AM – 2 PM @ Menard May Park (413 South Riverside Drive, Edgewater)

Do you love the water? The city of Edgewater sure does – we treasure the gem that is the Intracoastal Waterway. The EDGEfest River Rescue Regatta will include water fun and safety tips. There will be plenty of fun and educational opportunities for all ages. Bring your stand up paddleboard, kayak or canoe for an excursion along the shoreline. 

There will be a guided paddle tour, trash art contest and cardboard boat race at 12:30 p.m. Teams can consist of two to four members and children under 10 must wear a personal flotation device. Awards will be presented for speed, team spirit and best in show. Boats may be made at home prior to the event or at the park. Some supplies will be provided at the event. Once again, the city will be participating in the International Coastal Clean Up as part of this event. The International Coastal Clean Up began more than 30 years ago and now volunteers from all over the United States and 100 other countries come together each year to clean up the coastlines.
