Florida Fishing in July
Now that summer is officially here, the temperatures are very hot and the bite remains as well! With a plethora of bait and hungry predators, there is no lack of good fishing. From what I’ve seen on social media the offshore fishing has been spectacular as well!

As for the backwaters, there have been plenty of sightings of upper-slot redfish in the shallow creeks and along the banks. Max Bressan (@_MaxBressan) recently scored a lovely slot redfish off of his Nano Craft boat in the shallows of Edgewater (pictured above). Utilizing artificial bait and being super stealth paid off for his epic catch.

Back behind my house in Bethune, the snook have been super aggressive but our luck has been cut short with landing some of the upper slots. They are hanging tight in the back creeks and once you hook them they go straight for the banks. I did manage to catch my PB mangrove snapper using a live mullet (pictured above). This li’l dude was not having it and was actually a pretty radical fight!
My longtime buddy and OG native, Rusty Roberts (pictured below), lost a few nice snook recently but managed to catch this fiesta li’l shark in a spot that was super tight. It seems that more and more sharks are coming into the shallow backwaters. It makes sense as the ecosystem is absolutely flourishing.

Look for more epic fishing ahead with good water quality and cooperative tides!
