Music Night @ The Hub on Canal

Friday, from 7 – 9 pm @ The Hub on Canal, 132 Canal St, New Smyrna Beach, FL 32168

Packrat and his Men of the Swamp define a genre referred to as swamp blues. It’s a homegrown, organic format more at home in the bayous and lowlands than the street corners and clubs that spawned more traditional blues. Anthony “Packrat” Thompson calls it “greasy.” Influenced by artists such as Howlin’ Wolf and Muddy Waters, Packrat and the band are prone to slipping into a “jam” that stretches a single song to 10 minutes. Sitting still is tough. Sponsored by: Dennis and Anne Higginbotham

Fee: $5 for Members; $10 for non-members. Tickets at the door. Doors open at 6:15pm.
