Do you love animals? The city of Edgewater sure does – big ones, little ones, furry ones – they love them all! They have partnered with the Edgewater Animal Shelter and will celebrate animals of all kinds at the annual EDGEfest Pet-A-Palooza.
Check out the EDGEfest Pet-A-Palooza event!

The event will be held on Saturday, April 17, 2021 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Rotary Park located at 902 West Park Avenue (home of one of the city of Edgewater’s two dog parks). There will be plenty of fun pet related contests, games and lots of pet resources and vendors on hand. You may even find a forever friend at one of the many rescue organizations who will be represented.
There will be food, music and probably a good deal of barking! Mark your calendar and bring your four-legged friends (on a leash, of course).
EDGEfest is a year round series of events held monthly in the city of Edgewater. Each event includes a variety of activities designed to provide something for every member of the family. The EDGEfest event series is funded solely by sponsorships and donations. It is a fun, economical opportunity for businesses to showcase all they have to offer.

The next EDGEfest event, previously planned for March and rescheduled due to severe weather, will be the Backyard BBQ Contest on May 1.
The EDGEfest Backyard BBQ Contest has been paired up with the Edgewater Family Fest. This first time combination event promises lots of fun for all ages. There will be a business expo from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The BBQ contest kicks off at 12:00 PM. Winners will be announced at 4:00 PM. The fun continues in to the evening with live music until 9:00 PM.
There will be activities for the kids and a corn hole tournament. The Vietnam Tribute and Global War on Terrorism Tribute Walls will be on display in memory and honor of those who have served. All of this will be taking place at Hawks Park (1108 South Ridgewood Avenue) in Edgewater on Saturday, May 1, 2021. Masks and social distancing are encouraged.

There is no entry fee for contestants in either the amateur and professional divisions of the Backyard BBQ contest. Adults can taste all the BBQ for just $5 and kids under 10 can taste for free. All the proceeds will go to the Local School Scholarship Fund that helps Edgewater high school graduates reach their educational goals.
