Live musical performances will take place in front of City Hall at 210 Sams Ave. and food vendors will offer sausage & peppers, Greek salad, kettle corn, lemonade, funnel cakes, and more on both days.

Chalk It Up! Sidewalk Chalk Art Competition
The 4th Annual Chalk It Up! event is subject to change due to the Covid-19 situation. Sanitary and social distancing measures will be implemented before and during the event to ensure the safety of all participants, visitors, and Hub employees and volunteers. Calling All Chalk Artists!
The Hub on Canal 4th Annual Chalk It Up! Sidewalk Chalk Art Competition will be held Saturday, February 27, 2021, 9am to 4pm along Canal Street in New Smyrna Beach in conjunction with the Utilities Commission of New Smyrna Beach, the Canal Street Historic District, Art Fiesta and the City of New Smyrna Beach.
Sidewalk spaces are limited — so register now! Covid-19 social distancing precautions means that fewer sidewalk spaces are available to chalk artists.
Chalk artists will create chalk masterpieces in 4 ft sq spaces on Canal Street sidewalks. Professional artists have the option to request a 4 x 8 ft or larger space when registering online.
Artist Registration
The first 50 registered artists will receive free chalk packs! Sidewalk spaces will be assigned on a first registered, first served basis. Pre-registration is free online through 6 pm, Tuesday, February 23. Click Here to Register On-site registration in person is $10 per artist and only available 8-9am on the day of the event. On-site registrations will be accepted as sidewalk space allows.
Rules & Guidelines
Chalk It Up! Artist registrations will be accepted as sidewalk space allows. By submitting the online registration form, the Artist acknowledges that he/she understands and is in agreement with the following:
Artwork Area Size
Each artwork area is 4 x 4 ft. Professional Artists have the option to reserve a 4 x 8 ft or larger area as space is available. Spaces will be assigned upon receipt of this registration form. On-site in person registration fee is $10 in cash per Artist.
Artwork Requirement
Only chalk and non-oil pastels in solid forms may be used for the contest. No other materials such as paint of any kind, markers, Sharpies, ink, Crayons, pencils, etc. are acceptable. No fixatives are allowed, except water-soluble hairspray.
Artwork Approval
All artwork must be appropriate for public viewing. No words or symbols intended as advertising may appear within the artwork. No copyright-protected images or commercial advertising will be accepted (excceptions made for the Business Artist Category.) No obscene, political or racist imagery or words are allowed.
