LEC plans winter break camp

Children ages 7 to 12 can discover the importance of Florida’s unique scrub habitat during a winter break camp that will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Dec. 28 through 31 at Lyonia Environmental Center (LEC), 2150 Eustace Ave., Deltona.

While learning to be better environmental stewards, campers will learn about animals and marine creatures and their adaptations. Activities will include nature hikes, games, experiments, science, and arts and crafts.

The camp will be limited to eight participants to allow for social distancing. Pre-registration is required; contact Shari Smith at ssmith@volusia.org or 386-789-7207, ext. #21026.

LEC staff has established public program procedures based on current guidelines. These procedures are subject to change based on guidance at the local, state and federal levels. Programs may be modified at any time as needed.
