Annual LUNAFEST Continues Virtually

Girls on the Run of Volusia County (GOTR) will be hosting the 10th Annual LUNAFEST this year virtually.  This was going to be a big, beautiful event at The Athens Theatre in DeLand this coming Tuesday 4/28, but due the circumstances, it had to be changed to virtual.

To provide a little bit of background on LUNAFEST, it is a national film festival that features short films by, for and about women.  For one 24 hour window, LUNAFEST’s 7 short films (97 minutes) will be available for streaming.  Please note films are for a mature audience, ages 14+ is advised

Girls on the Run Volusia County is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to creating a world where every girl knows and activates her limitless potential and is free to boldly pursue her dreams. The 10-week after-school program inspires girls of all abilities to recognize their inner strength and prepare them for a lifetime of self-respect and healthy living. Research-based curriculum offers programming aimed at strengthening third – to – eighth grade girls’ social, emotional and physical health. 

Girls on the Run of Volusia County never turns a girl away because of her inability to pay.  The young women in our program, receive financial assistance made possible through grants and generous community donations.  LUNAFEST provides funds for program scholarships and running shoes for our girls that are most in need.
