Wild turkeys will be the featured topic at the Marine Discovery Center’s November monthly lecture series.
Native Floridian Ed Northey will discuss “Turkey Talk: The Habits and Habitats of Florida’s Wild Turkeys” in his presentation.
Thursday, Nov. 21 @ 6 p.m. – Marine Discovery Center, 520 Barracuda Boulevard, New Smyrna Beach
A lifelong outdoorsman, Northey is an Environmental Specialist III and district National Pollutant Discharge Elimination Systems (NPDES) Coordinator for the Florida Department of Transportation.
His presentation will explore the wild turkeys found in Central Florida and review the vocalization of these native birds, as well as the calls and tools available to use in the field to converse with the species. He also will discuss hunting and conservation.
MDC’s November lecture is open to the public at no charge and no reservations are required.
Seating in the center’s Learning Lab is limited and early arrival is recommended.
