The Festival features a unique blend of fine arts, crafts, music, food, and fun. Admission is free to the public with plenty of free parking for artful shoppers and artists.
The Festival features juried local, regional, and national original works of art from over 250 artists offering affordable artwork for the established as well as the beginning collector.
The Festival features two sections – Competitive Fine Arts and Crafts which are juried and judged and eligible for prize and patron money. Non-Competitive Arts are juried but not eligible for awards. Artworks in both sections are all original.
The Student Art Exhibit and Competition feature art students from kindergarten through twelfth grade from the Volusia County public school system as well as area private schools. The student art is located at the News-Journal Center at Daytona State College, 221 North Beach Street, Daytona Beach, during Festival hours. After the Sunday Awards Ceremony, the winning art will be displayed at the Daytona’s Museum of Arts & Sciences, 352 South Nova Road, Daytona Beach, Florida, for one week.
The Festival, also, supports Children Pre-K to 5 years old. They are invited to create their own masterpieces under the “Little Van Gogh” tent while friends and family watch. Art supplies are free to every child.
Live music will be featured both Saturday and Sunday. Plenty of seating will be available in Riverfront Park to enjoy the music and a snack. Shoppers may choose from food trucks or the many fine bistros and restaurants along Beach Street.
The 57th Halifax Art Festival is presented and produced by the Guild of the Museum of Arts & Sciences. The Festival is the Signature fundraiser for the Museum and also benefits the Cici and Hyatt Brown Museum of Art and the Charles and Linda Williams Children’s Museum.
