Volusia County Veterans Day Parade

Saturday, Nov. 9 from 10 – 11 AM @ Indiana Avenue and Woodland Boulevard DeLand, FL

Honor those who have served our nation at this heartwarming annual parade. The parade kicks off with a vintage military aircraft flyover and then features veterans of all branches of service, as well as military vehicles, marching bands and patriotic floats on Woodland Blvd. The goal is to honor the sacrifices of all veterans and their families in a daylong celebration in historic Downtown DeLand. Meet, Honor and Thank Veterans

Saturday, Nov. 9 from 3 – 8 PM @ Daytona Beach Brewing Co.

Come meet, honor and thank veterans at a special beer release for veterans! Hot dogs and hamburgers by Loaded Dogs will be available for purchase. 

Any donations will be used to support Volusia County Veterans.

Veterans Park Dedication Ceremony

Saturday, Nov. 9 from 11 AM – 1 PM @ Daytona Beach Shores Community Center, 3000 Bellemead Drive Daytona Beach Shores, FL

In honor of all veterans, the City of Daytona Beach Shores is providing a special program and park dedication. Light refreshments will be served.

Daytona State College holds Veterans Day events on all campuses

Daytona State College will salute service members past and present with ceremonies on its campuses in observation of Veterans Day. The Daytona Beach Campus commemoration features a color guard, speeches and various military organizations. All events below are free and open to the public. 

The 11 a.m. event will be held Monday, Nov. 11, at the ECHO Plaza student landing in the center of the Daytona Beach Campus, 1200 W. International Speedway Blvd. The ceremony welcomes and honors current and former service members, and everyone in the community is invited to join in the celebration.

The Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University ROTC Color Guard will open the ceremony, followed by comments from student and faculty veterans as well as Dr. Thomas LoBasso, DSC President and Florida National Guard veteran. Dave Tatum, U.S. Army veteran and DSC IT Director, will serve as emcee for the event. Speakers will include SGA President and U.S. Army Veteran Stephen Miksits, retired U.S. Navy Veteran and DSC IT Coordinator Bill Harrison, and retired U.S. Army Reservist and Assistant Chair, School of Mathematics Barry Gibson. 

The DSC regional campuses will mark Veterans Day, as follows:

Wednesday, Nov. 13, at 10 a.m. Advanced Technology College, 1770 N. Technology Blvd., with the presentation of colors and pledge of allegiance, followed by speaker Jim Jabluszewski, Assistant Chair, Law Enforcement and Corrections Academy. Refreshments to follow.

And for a fifth consecutive year, the U.S. News & World Report’slisting of America’s Best Online Bachelor’s Programs for Military Veterans ranked Daytona State No. 25 among more than 700 colleges and universities across the nation.

Veterans Day Ceremony at Davies Lighthouse Park

Monday, Nov. 11 @ 10 AM at Davies Lighthouse Park, 4931 South Peninsula Drive Ponce Inlet, FL

All are welcome to attend the Veterans Day Ceremony at the Kay & Ayres Davies Lighthouse Park in Ponce Inlet on November 11 at 10 a.m.

Davies Lighthouse Park is situated under the shadow of the historic Ponce DeLeon Light Station.  In this three-acre park you will find a playground and picnic area along with a gazebo and restrooms. The Ponce Inlet Veterans Memorial in this park was dedicated on November 11, 2011. There is also a public boat ramp here, with limited parking available. The Mary Keller Bird Rehabilitation Center, Marine Science Center and Lighthouse Point Park are a short walk away.

Veterans Day Tribute

Monday, Nov. 11 @ 11 AM at  Ormond Memorial Art Museum & Gardens, 78 East Granada Boulevard Ormond Beach, FL 32176

Join Ormond Memorial Art Museum and Gardens for its  annual Veterans Day Tribute with speakers, music and gratitude. The 2019 Tribute features speakers Hal Kushner, MD, US Army Army Col. Ret. and A. S. Minor, US Army veteran. Minor is a spoken word poet, and Kushner’s military honors include the Silver Star, Bronze Star, Purple Heart, the Republic of Vietnam’s Cross of Gallantry. The retired colonel was inducted into the Army Aviation Hall of Fame in 2001.

Music will be provided by the Bethune-Cookman University Tuba & Euphonia Ensemble, and refreshments offered by the Pilot Club of Daytona Beach.

Free and open to the public. Parking available east of St. James Church.

Port Orange

Veterans Day Ceremony

Port Orange, FL 32129

The City of Port Orange will present the annual Veterans Day Ceremony on Monday, November 11th, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. The VFW Post 3282 will host the ceremony, which will feature a display of colors, speeches, and a 21-gun salute. The ceremony will be held in Veterans Park. The closest area for parking is located at 4655 City Center Circle, Port Orange.
