AdventHealth New Smyrna Beach Auxiliary Needs Volunteers
AdventHealth NSB Auxiliary is encouraging anyone who wishes to support the causes of the Auxiliary to join their team and commit to 4 hours a week. The Auxiliary is a standalone organization of an all-volunteer work force, a 401c (3) not-for-profit. Currently they have 110 volunteers that support patients, visitors and medical staff in many capacities.
Duties of Auxiliary Volunteers
Their volunteers serve a 4-hour shift a week when on duty. They request a volunteer be able to contribute at least 60 hours in a 12-month period. Training is provided on hospital procedures, wheelchair operations, overall safety requirements and specific operational duties. The hospital provides each volunteer with a meal for every shift they serve, TB Screening, flu shot during flu season, and workers compensation if injured at the hospital.
The Auxiliary provides each volunteer with a uniform, special event luncheons and they have an Assistance Fund for emergencies, funded through their annual dues ($5) and donations.
