The City of Edgewater is thrilled to announce the grand opening and ribbon cutting at Whistle Stop Park (651 Roberts Road) on Saturday, May 4, 2019.

In the November 2015 election, the voters of Edgewater approved the GO for Parks referendum. This authorized the City to issue up to $3.5 million in general obligation bonds for proposed improvements to Whistle Stop Park that included:

  • a walking trail with fitness stations
  • Basketball Court
  • Racquetball Court
  • Tennis Court
  • Volleyball Court
  • Dog Park
  • Skate Park
  • Splash Park
  • new playground
  • new restroom
  • pavilion
  • green space for future events

The city was also awarded a $400,000 grant from the County of Volusia ECHO program which helped further develop the park.

The transformation of Whistle Stop Park will be celebrated at the Grand Opening/Ribbon cutting event which will begin at 9:00 AM.

Immediately following the ribbon cutting the first ever EdgeFest Health Hootenanny will kick off and go until 1:00 PM. There will be fitness demonstrations, music, vendors and lots of healthy fun!
