Well that was one epic summer and for sure one for the record books! The fishing has been nothing less than stellar from the lagoon all the way north to the inlet and everywhere else in between. The crews offshore have been slaying it; the inshore guides have made their customers happy and the paddleboard fishing has been incredible.

Fellow backwater cowboy @CaseyColli and myself had the itch for huge snook so we hit up Captain Matt Budd based in Jupiter, Florida. Towards the end of August, the bigger snook really start moving around and become very aggressive on the bite. Utilizing larger croakers, we absolutely slayed some giants. The snook ranged from 39 inches to 42 inches and weighed 30 to 40 pounds.
Both Casey and myself were so stoked on how many fish we caught that we both still think we are dreaming! Huge thanks to Captain Matt Budd! Check out all his action on Instagram at @CaptMattBudd or @JupiterFishingAcademy for more info.

As for our backwaters the topwater bite has been as hot as ever with snook, redfish and trout being caught this past month. The full moon tides have been a big difference as well, making the majority of the last week in August all-time fishing conditions. Look for more incredible fishing in the coming month with snook season opening back up and the start of fall with temperatures starting to cool off. My go-to lure currently is a black and silver topwater Spook lure.
